The FI4IAR was set up to structure what France has to offer in terms of agricultural research, to boost its visibility on the global stage, and to coordinate targeted research operations of common interest. By setting up the FI4IAR, INRA and CIRAD have confirmed their joint will to build a consultation framework open to stakeholders concerned by agricultural, food, health or environmental issues. The primary goal is to build joint or complementary research programmes to be promoted to national and multilateral bodies. The aim is to associate different partners, both scientific and institutional, whose involvement is imperative for the generation of knowledge that is both original and relevant from an operational point of view.
